    The US's intention (and it will remain the same for the forseeable future, as long as the threat remains) is not only to crush the attackers (Al Qaeda), but those who sheltered them (the Taliban) and those from which they might obtain WMD's or the info, technology and supplies needed to make them (Saddam, the leading murderer of Muslims in world history, who also sheltered, supplied, paid and supported terrorists, used WMD's on both his own people and those of a neighboring nation, began two wars in two decades, and attempted to assassinate a former US president, was in a class all his own there, and with two vicious and conscienceless sons ready to take over and continue in his footsteps should he have soon died). The co-operating combination of rogue states with WMD's and global terrorist networks infected with religio-ideology of world conquest and hatred for all who are not memetic clones of themselves is not one that the world at large can interminably abide.
