    The practical benefit is in things like genetic engineering, the Human
    Genome Project etc. None of the technology developed in the world of
    molecular biology would have been possible without Darwin, because his ideas
    contributed strongly to the various research programmes which led to them.
    That's his benefit, if you need a practical benefit.
