    Culturally, I'd almost say the question is meaningless. What works inside
    of a culture has nothing whatsoever (necessarily) to do with what science
    means by working.

    If a culture contains much scientific truth and works on containing more,
    I call that an enlightened society. If it contains much flim-flam and
    falsehood, and makes no attempt to lessen this amount and replace it with
    scientific truth, I call that a religiously endarkened society....

    Which may or may not have a country attached to it. Or a cult. Or a
    web-site....
