    Though I've been with the list from the beginning, I don't save all posts as
    most of them are noise from my POV and saving them all would make it too
    difficult to find the few that interest me--not, mind you, that I ever go
    though my email archives. Plus, they are archived on the web so its there
    if I ever need it.

    At the beginning there was furious activity, lasting perhaps a month or so.
    Then things settled into the boom and bust cycles you've noted. This seems
    to be typical of such lists.

    If you do it, you really should go back to the beginning. Though, you might
    want to run just your set as a pilot study.
