Folks,
I don't understand why there is such resistance to something resembling
a "substrate based meme." Very obviously there may be DNA based neural
constructs of an individual nature that are synergistic with certain
types of meme constructs or, contradictory constructs. Thus, just as
with DNA based determinants, such as muscularity or physical size or
capabilities, etc., might be synergistically coupled with behavioral
performance, such as athletics, and other DNA based physical constructs,
such as missing or ineffective limbs, etc., might be contradictory to
certain behaviors like athletics.
Now then, it would be readily apparent that many memes would be
particularly effective with certain genetically determined neural
environments or vice versa and, considering the enormous statistical
implications of various DNA variations, it would be difficult indeed to
separate such memetic influences from underlying favorable or
unfavorable neural environments, thus making the result of various memes
tremendously variable in effectiveness in populations and subsequent
behaviors, depending on the underlying neural physical conditions. To
separate such memetic influences from neural substrate formations would
indeed be difficult if not short sighted.
Cordially,
Bob
