Well, this is my hope.
In answer to Aaron, Al combatted his opponents, and there were opponents,
and still are, with his thought experiments and descriptions of actual
fact gathering experiments, which could be replicated. The Method, in a
word, always winnows out the false.
What we lack around here are descriptions of the experiments, thought or
otherwise, that we could all run, to find, hopefully, replicable results.
The fact that someone here or anywhere has run a memetic experiment is
useless to us unless published and run elsewhere. The Method needs to
continue.
As far as being fooled, there is still one being born every minute,
although, with the current world population, (and I welcome the
mathematicians to solve this) the frequency of propagation of the
gullible may well have increased since Barnum's time.
