    I would say hate the emotion is genetic but what it is directed at is memetic or learned. Almlost all of us are born with the capacity to hate but life and what we are taught give us the reason and the target. That part is not rational nor are emotions in general. If you hate your life, you need to direct that hate at someone or it will consume you. Self hate is also a problem for many people. Psychiatrists have to deal with it all the time.

    So trying to wrap up a complex issue like that with a simple philosophy is next to impossible.
