The more you know, the more your brain is growing
It is demonstrated:the more you know, the more your brain is growing.
British investigators have shown by London cabdrivers a connection between
the size of their brain and the quantity of knowlegde they possess.
The investigators have looked at the brain of sixteen righthanded cabdrivers
in London and compared them with the brain of a other fifty righthanded
drivers who weren't cabdrivers.
All sixteen cabdrivers had a hippocampus millimetres greater than the con-
trolegroup.
The hippocampus is that part of the brain that is used for our spatial memory,
where the brain is keeping its maps.
Especially cabdrivers in London are famous for their knowlegde of their city.
In England is that know as THE KNOWLEDGE.
The investigators did succeeded to demonstrate a direct correlation between
how cabdrivers use their brain to find their way around in London and the
size and hindmost part of the hippocampus.
"How longer you were a driver, how bigger it was",said Elenor Maguire of the
Neurological Institute of the UNiversity College inLondon.(anp)
Can anyone from England put his/hers hands on the rapport!
It would be interesting to know what its full content is,accordingly to meme-
theory!?
Regards,
Kenneth
