My response may be far-fetched,but!?
The only circumstance besides group suicide and death where memes causes
genes to demise and the memes continue to replicate, vary, and thus evolve is a
scenario wherein the mind (along memetic lineages) by means of gathering know-
ledge (and the possibility for it) becomes an on itself existing subjective, really in
a manner which proceeds from it's own sentiment or conception.
That is_according as the insight of the memes in themselves grows larger how
inferior becomes the role of our body.Memes (from the meme-meme eye view)
will seek for an opportunity to dispose themselves of the body and in the end
to let it fade away completely.
In that case memes are then part of a memetic consciousness,a conscient
memepool.
Anyhow,men_as we know them, will then long be gone, but the memes will go on.
Memes in the conscient memepool, will not loose their possibility to behold them-
selves_they will have " memorized " all of the possible insights to look upon
themselves,to admire themselves,to learn,to understand,to improve...to replicate,
vary and thus evolve.
May we say, analogous to Skinnerian and Popperian beings, memetician beings !?
Regards!
