Ooh... almost a red rag to a bull..., but rather than rant, I'll
simply recommend a recent book, George Monbiot's 'Captive State' (2000).
That'll give you a pretty good sense of how coporations are shaping
contemporary Britain (a book the "democracy-loving" Swiss tried to prevent
entering the country, along with Klein's 'No Logo', according to the book's
blurb).
