Subject: Re: Words and memes
Hi Ted
Good points. What if 'meme' is simply a word signifying a strand of
cultural information which resides in cultural artefacts (even a hammer)
which enables the replication of the culture?
Jeremy
Well Joe
There are many definitions of 'culture'. Mine is, any group of entities
(chess players or football fans - go Patriots - for example) who share
common aims ideals activities. In my memetic ontology memes are simply
the
coded information which enables the culture to continue.

I'm not sure this is true. I know what football is, what it ntails etc. I
would be quite happy for there NEVER to be match on tv. So i don't share
the goals but reject them.
