I never said it was. It's what the child decides to do about it that's a
meme. Crying is not its only option and it often uses the other options
available to it. As it gets older, the number of options increase. Crying
is usually just the first option, but if that doesn't work he keeps trying
other things until he finds one that does work. My own son gave up crying
as soon as he realized he was going to get fed at the same time every day no
matter how much he cried. I think he's still angry with me about that.
