    Perhaps in the same way any fad expression catches and holds. It's handy,
    it's meaning is vague, it crosses language boundaries both by being
    pronouncable and resorting to fundamental sound forms (mama mia, that's a
    nisa meme...), and people can use it without having the slightest idea or
    the slightest care about what they're saying, which is an operating
    priority for most conversations.
