And I see what would be revealed is, among other things, the configurations of specific memes in specific brains. This is cognitively akin to finally getting into a factory and obtaining a schematic for a mechanism within it. I do not expect the neuronal firing patterns that I see eventually being found to correspond to specific memes in particular brains to be ghosts or in any manner supernatural. Nor do I see them being beamed in by a morphic Scotty.
As to artifacts, upon reflection, I have come to the position that for someone to see a Dodge Viper, like it, and go out and buy one, to be a memetic transmission, but the meme is not the artifact car. Rather, it is the having/owning action-relationship that the other person has with their car that is replicated within oneself. By the same token, the relationships of making (say, a banana split)and of saying (that I, too, am a communist/fascist.democrat/ptriot/green/pagan etc.) can also be selected for and replicated
