    I had a quick look and found a couple of thing suggesting something similar
    in pilot and killer whales.

    And another piece by Jared Diamond more generally about the adaptive case
    for the menopause rom Discover magazine in 1996, that also mentioned plito

    It doesn't appear that the case is rock solid, and it is still unusual
    enough to cause the adaptive argument problems. Still, nice to see my
    memory wasn't completey flawed.
