Language is almost totally memetic (the only nonmemetic parts of it are the physical media used to speal and write, and even their meaning-holding configurations are memetic), and technology possesss a memetic component, inasmuch as physical problems are skinned in certain ways and not others, and these ways have significative, and thus memetic, status.
It makes drawing the boundaries between the memetic and the non-memetic difficult, as we, to expand upon a Frederic Jameson book title, live in a prison-house (which nevertheless provides us with astounding freedoms to think and do things we counld not otherwise think and do) of languange and technology. But it nevertheless is a ground condition within which we find ourselves, and thus if we wish to define our fishbowl's parameters, we must do so from inside of it.
