    Hi Philip,

I would like to add a little, tiny thing to that.
The medium, whatever that might be, should not only motivated to
adopt memes, but it should be also at the " right place in time " !!
Earlier this year I had a conversation about this with Scott I think.
We called such a concept ' future memes '.

Those are memes/ ideas which do now pop up but which do have
no direct meaning, use or affect in the present. They are ideas, memes
    which already shape the future.
If they would ever be used, sort out any affect, could have meaning
is related to the fact that they must pop up in that future at the right
place, in the right medium and at the right time.

They could be evolution pressures, meme- processing ideas ( like the
post I sended you earlier), plausible predictions for things where yet
now we don 't have the ful answer for,....
Memetics as the concept is such a future meme.
Thinking like this, I assume that we can say that every meme of the now
is also, in essence a meme of the future !?
Assuming of course that every memetic lineage is never finished, that it
always evolves further ( new meanings are added, new effects are sorted
    out,...) No !?

    Regards,

    Kenneth
