"Foosball" was the way Kathy Bates's character in Adam Sandler's movie
_Waterboy_ referred to football, which she did not want her boy playing.
Anybody else notice how Saturday Night Live alumni tend to play bit roles in
their old pal's movies? Rob Schneider has solidified his role as the "you
can do it" guy appearing in both _Waterboy_ and _Little Nicky_.
SNL has asserted itself within the televised comedy niche. I'd dare say they
have outdone Monty Python (the "sacred cow" of Brit comedy). Look at how
many SNL alumni have gone on to star in movies, though some of their careers
have wound up less than stellar. There have been some stand-outs such as the
Belushi brithers, Dan Ackroyd, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Phil Hartman, Chevy
Chase, Bill Murray, Al Franken, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Billy Crystal,
Damon Wayans, Robert Downey, Adam Sandler, David Spade...
