I know several people who have told me that hearing about someone's suicide
made them feel depressed. And I've felt very slightly suicidal myself upon
hearing of the suicide of someone that I liked. (Sasha Chislenko
    <http://www.lucifer.com/~sasha/home.html> as just one example.)

    Useless hypotheses:
consciousness, phlogiston, philosophy, vitalism, mind, free will, qualia,
    analog computing, cultural relativism

Everything that can happen has already happened, not just once,
but an infinite number of times, and will continue to do so forever.
(Everything that can happen = more than anyone can imagine.)
