    I remembered the irregularity wrong.

    Regular meditation has cumulative effects on non-meditative experience.
    There's no suggestion in Buddhism that enlightenment is confined
    to meditation, and much to suggest it's not. If you have any actual
    evidence or argument, I'd like to see it.
