Hiya everyone,
Whilst browsing Amazon I cam across this new book and was wondering if
anyone had seen it (I managed to stop myself ordering it since I need to be
concentrating on my job at the moment, but I suspect I won't be able to hold
out for very long)-
Lee Alan Dugatkin (2001) 'The Imitation Factor: Evolution Beyond The Gene',
Free Press
From the blurb and one online review (which gave it 5/5) it sounds more at
the animal than human end of the debate, but quite clearly argues that
imitation is the key factor in cultural transmission and behaviours. No
sign of memes in the blurb though.
If anyone has seen/sees this, please let us know what it's like.
Vincent
[p.s. in an effort to limit my posts, can I just add that I liked the
article forwarded by Wade about dance- I was wondering about dance only the
other day, seems highly ripe as memetic to me]
