    Perhaps, a Martian would conclude the same regarding humans, they make
    patterned noise.

    Alternatively, one might conclude 'patterned noise' is self contradictory,
    noise is patternless.

    Maybe you meant 'patterned vocalizations,' in which case the Martian
    conclusion about humans holds.
