Actually I'm now campaigning for a reinstatement of Saturnalia
(Santa-urnalia?), just to legitimise the consumerist,
self-gratification fest (which is a lot of fun, but totally at
odds with the religious angle). After all Christmas should be at
Easter(ish) anyway shouldn't it? There's a memetic hijacking if
ever there was one...
Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum viditur.
Cheers, Chris.
P.S. Does anyone know why Jehovahs don't do birthdays? That
caused an awkward moment the other month at playgroup. I mean if
there's one legit celebration to be had surely that's it..?
P.P.S. In my War&Peace-scale one before, sub in hole for whole
the first three times near the end (I need a holiday).
