Does anybody know what is happening to the Journal of Memetics? Is it dead forever or will there be a new journal? The website ( http://jom-emit.cfpm.org/ ) says: Notice: JoM-EMIT is now closed to submissions. The existing papers will continue to be freely accessible at this site. It is likely that: (A) it will be relaunched from the PCP website and (2) That there will be a final issue of retrospectives and prosectives on memetics and the journal to round this incarnation off. I would very much like to see a new journal with a somewhat broader focus than the Journal of Memetics. In particular, I would like to include models that do not rely on discrete information units. I have submitted an article to the journal back in April last year. I haven't heard from them since then. It would have been polite of the editor to inform me about what's happening. Should I submit it again to some other journal? Can anybody suggest a suitable journal? My article is a defense of cultural selection theory, countering the arguments of sociologists that this science is invalid. I sent it originally to a sociology journal. They kept rejecting it no matter what I did to meet their requirements. I strongly suspect that the referee was the very same person that I criticised in my article :-) Then I submitted it to the Journal of Memetics, and what happens? =============================================================== This was distributed via the memetics list associated with the Journal of Memetics - Evolutionary Models of Information Transmission For information about the journal and the list (e.g. unsubscribing) see: http://cfpm.org/jom-emit
