I recall having the Darwin/Lamarck discussion on a different list where
there was the suggestion that the context issue be changed from:
Darwin - context insensitive
Lamarck - context sensitive
To
Darwin - context sensitive
Lamarck - context aware
I find no problem with this in that I think it clarifies my point where when
I write Darwin is context insensitive I mean no awareness of the contextual
influences in the lifetime of the gene/lifeform etc The gene/lifeform is
sensitive to the context in that the context determines survival (reactive)
but the gene/lifeform is not aware of this, it has its own little world.
