    I would just like to mention three things the paper's concept doesn't seem to account for: recipes (for how to make things), traditions (handed down from generation to generation withing a family or cultural group) and ceremonies (which preserve celebrations of events in the same way and format over generations). All of these would seem to be encoded replicators that preserve elements of a culture.
