Sitting with a generally seated group, on a bench, is indeed sitting. It
is also not walking, standing, running, jogging, ad infinitum.
Sitting in a church, alone, while the congregation is standing in song,
(assuming one is capable of standing and singing) is most definitely
'not standing'.
Where and how one behaves _in opposition_ is the behavior we are
speaking of, because of what one is _not_ doing.
Sitting is, or is not, 'not walking', dependant upon circumstance.
Which is more memetic, though?
