Hi Scott,
Don 't wanna nit- pick though, but IIRC, the film itself got nothing to do
with that attempt to murder Reagan. The guy was in love with Jodie
Foster who played a major role. He shot the president to get noticed
by Foster. If she had played in a remake of Gone with the Wind, the
guy would have tried just the same.
Although, the way by which Foster portrayed the hooker in Taxi Driver
could have played a role... although a more sexy remake of Gone...
could have done the trick too I suppose.
