    I would say that this is a moot point. Propagandists and jingoistic
    nationalist campaigns use memetics (maybe without naming it as such). Add.
    companies manufacture 'cool', cute, smart and so on with memetics.
    Also, I suspect that the 'green' movement uses something close to memetics
    to counter the engineered 'greed-is-good' meme(um, not that I would tho).
    That's what I reckon anyway.
