To summarize the universe of government in a nutshell: Policy is created by
    default rather than by design.

    Hi Lawrence,

I agree with you that it is a great help to have a possibility to bounce back some ideas. And more power to you if you use the list to check out  ideas before applying them to real world situations.

Yes, I imagined you would not be a Bush voter, and even so I would be surprised, I might be wrong on this.

    I agree with Grants posting.
Stupid and intelligent are relative terms, not absolutes. Any administration in any government will be relatively more or less stupid or intelligent than any other. The policy a government turns out is the result of input by hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals with differing goals and opinions . . .
    Grant

Even so I do appreciate you attitude, I'm a bit worried that a certain righteousness shines through your words here. I just do not know if what you see as betterment is the same as what I or all the other people you influence see as betterment.
And yes, I do think our efforts, whether we are in or out of government,
should be orinted toward betterment of the human condition. I'm not
    interested in anything else.

    Lawrence

There is even a more critical issue, and that has to do with Grants remarks. I have heard and believe we humans can at the most handle 3 independent thoughts in our mind at any one time. With the uncountable issues out there in the political world, I would have appreciated if you would have included as your first the notion not to do any harm.

    Joachim
