Yep. Zimbardo's famous for that 'prison' role-playing experiment
where those students got carried away. Millgram's famous six degrees of
separation experiment is being redone over the net, although I forget the
website address, apparently you can sign up to join in with the updated
version of that study.
The 6 degrees idea, would seem to be a potentially useful tool for
the spreading of memes if ti's correct.
