Do you know other memebank efforts? It would be interesting tocompare

I too would be interested to hear of any other memebank or meme library
projects. I am at present trying to write something on the implications of
meme theory for libraries and information management. So far I have found
only two references to memes or memetics in library journals, the more
useful one being a paper by S.K.Sen in India in 1981 which suggested
(amongst other things) that both indexing and library shelving could be more
useful if arranged memetically. It seems that this suggestion didn't catch
on, but I shall attempt to revive it. If someone here knows of anything
else written on memes and libraries or anyone working in this area I'd be
grateful...... thanks.
Also, has anyone written on citation studies as evidence for memetics?
There is a vast amount of data available and surely citation indexes provide
scientific documentation of the replication of ideas in some environments.
It should be possible to make predictions and then test them over a five or
ten-year period. Maybe we need to get someone at the ISI in Philadelphia
interested. Any contacts?
Best,
Diana
