"What irks me most is that I've noticed a tendecy for some to attribute morphoge-
    netic fields to Sheldrake."

The tendecy for some to attribute morphogenetic fields to Sheldrake,we know the
idea of morphogenetic fields is originally not from him,is maybe,as you implied,to
explain in a memetic sense as far as that part of a meme-complex that urges
    replication.
    Glenn Grant,Memetic Lexicon (http:/pespmc1.vyb.ac.be/MEMLEX.HTML) states
that a hook is often most effective when it is not an explicit statement, but a logi-
cal consequence of the memeUs content (Hofstadter)/See bait/treat on the Meme-
    tic Lexicon.

In that way,a hook is a so called reward co-meme_it promises reward,in the case
why we urge to attribute morphogenetic fields to Sheldrake there are some possibi-
    lities.
_We like Sheldrake as a person a lot,he gives us trust,so in a way security,a con-
dition of belief (which in itself is a hook/remerber Blackmore, why we like nice
    people!!)
_From a meme eye view, the propagation of the meme of morphic resonance/mor-
phogenetic field and so fort...is guaranteed.Maybe we must examen what is the
vaccine which protects the idea of morphogenetic fields against rival memes!?
_Maybe...maybe,it tells us that the idea of morphogenetic fields and morphic reso-
    nance have some truth!?
