Which brings back memories of the surprise Volkswagen engineers were in for
when they first put their two main products in a wind tunnel for the first
time. Based on intuitive notions from hydrodynamics they all expected the
rounded Beetle to perform way better than the box-shaped Microbus. So they
were extremely shocked when the measurements showed the Microbus to have a
superior aerodynamic shape, due to better handling of turbulence _behind_
the car, which is where - as they learned - the dynamite lay!
