Yesterday I heard that many Join the Crew messages were going around the
Tufts campus. I also heard that if you open such a message (ie dont
delete it without looking at it) it transfers a virus to your email files
and wipes out much of what is there, like previously saved messages. But
since I haven't recieved it myself I cant verify this. This is not to say
that I would open such a message if I did receive it. Mmmm... and since
this type of rumor is one that no one wants to verify if they had the
chance, (i.e. the d' level is very cautious) it (the rumor) could just as
easily be an anti-joining the crew meme instead of an anti-virus meme.
There is no fact of the matter between the two.
