    And that is a major flaw with behavior-only; it cannot acknowledge the latent and potential memetic efficacy of communication-designed artifacts, such as books, any more than it can acknowledge same in an idea one is considering/working on. Sorry, but when the tree falls, maybe no one hears the noise, but sound waves are produced; all you have to do to verify same is to manage to place a tape recorder by a soon-to-fall tree, rigged to begin taping when changes are registered in a mercury balance switch (and to perhaps transmit you a signal that the event has occurred), and vacate the auditory premises, to return later for a listen.
