A minor and pedantic point from a lapsed geologist. Plate Tectonics / continental drift is arguably two generations from Wegener in 1917 to
the the late 60s. Four if you count an early reference to a US Geologist (Smith ? Sorry I've lost the reference) who proposed the idea ca
1968.
