Only that it infers that there is a continuity of change. Of course, when you get fine-grained enough, you will discover digital rather than analog differences (just as physicists do, which throws a major monkey wrench into the idea of being able to predict everything all the way down). And the possibility in principle of prediction is inextricably linked to the possibility of necessity; in a probabilistic quantum universe, with not simple linear cartoon caricature chains of causality, but with complex and circular feedback and feedforward, and with multiple candidates continuously vying for the title of cause and effect, we are left with the theoretical wriggle room that each of us in practice know we possess.
