    Acting is presenting the emotive substrate and context so that you as the
    audience will know the feelings the character (the actor is representing)
    is having.

    In method acting, the actor is intended to feel them certainly. In
    standard acting, there are techniques of presentation that mimic to a
    necessary degree these emotions.

    Yes, character, but, mostly, emotions. Character is a quality of response.

    The best actors maintain a strong internal coherency of character, so
    that you know these feelings intensely, and share them.
