    Excellent article. I recently saw a photograph of a flute made out of what
    looked like a femur that was carbon dated around 40,000 ago. The number of
    holes in it suggests development of a musical scale had already been
    achieved by that time. There was more culture in our ancient past than we
    imagine today.
