    If only.

    True enough, if we can't prevent our own foolishness, how could we
    prevent the dangerous chicanery of others?

    Indeed, in lots of situation, albeit entertainment, we like to see
    dangerous chicanery.

    And, I'd hate to think all the 'quiet ones' were now, suddenly, to be be
    spied upon mercilessly.

    On the other hand, a few words, an interest, a caring curiosity- those
    are fading fast. No-one has enough time, supposedly, to take the time.
