Well...
I think it is an artefact- a word made up of specific letters- and the only
thing passing between members of this list that is demonstrably common to
our discussion of it a four letter word "meme" (I'm reminded of that guy way
back when I joined the list who deliberately mis-typed it all the time- as
if to demonstrate his dislike for it). What is it that's getting replicated
in the discussions we're having but the word?
I should stress that it's the printed term I think is artefactual, as if we
were all to say the word and send it as audio files to each other we'd hear
a fair few different accents and pronunciations. (Might be fun to do that
actually! I imagine Wade to have a Orson Wellesian tone about him, for some
reason).
