    Just a thought.

    Image can influence the distribution of memes. When a person respects
    another person he is more likely to accept a certain meme from this
    person as if he would disrespect this person. One can of course
    receive memes from persons one disrespects too but they will
    influence that person more in the way of "What not to do" or "What
    not to believe" on controversial issues. This also leads to different
    meme output and meme spreading from this person.

    This doesn't mean that respect is a direct result of image but i
    think in a lot of cases it is.
