Hi Jeff and welcome to the list,

Due to the terrorist bombing of two weeks ago memetic
evolution is likely to see some drastic changes and boosts indeed.

    > some memes that seem the ripest for memetic mutation:
    > terrorism

Terrorism will go massive memetic transformation if serious
attempts will be made to eradicate it from the face of the earth.
However, it's like a persistent virus and total erradication will be
an illusion when there still will be huge dissatisfaction due
to mistreatment, justly or not, of some nations by
    oppressive world powers.
    Terrorist retribution is the only
answer and means small nations or organizations may have to
combat bully interference and oppression. It is said that:
`Blows that don't break the back only make it stronger'.
Although, I do think the world would be a better
place without it, I don't see terrorism vanish...

    > violence

Memes rationalizing violence will always be
there where dissatisfaction lies too. Violence surrounding
terrorism will change in synchronicity with the changes
    of terrorist guerilla.

    > religion (monotheism)

Will still be there and prevalent. It's irrational but inherent
to Christianity that faith in Jesus/God does not
dwindle with God-loving people populating the US after the bombing...
I thank God the day people realize that the hoax called
religion was originally intended as nothing short of an
instrument of power, a social glue based on makebelief.

    > security

In particular at the airports security memes (technology)
will increase in frequency and evolve disproportionately,
    for the time being.

    > future generations

Hopefully will be brought up with a little less religious
memes after US tragedy. But this probably is idle hope..

    Philip.
