            Very interesting indeed, and very tragic. There are parts of the
    world where football rivalries don't go hand in hand with hooliganism
    (Brazil say?), but it looks like the US organisers of the game are looking
    at the European tradition (England principally, but look at the kind of
    trouble they have in Greece or Turkey now- like England in the early 1980s),
    and, wrongly, seeing that as a route to improving the status of the game for
    Americans. It ain't gonna work.

            Wasn't their a joke going around before the World Cup in 1994 about
    the US fans having wondered why in qualifying for previous World Cups, they
    had to play two teams in one day when drawn against Trinidad & Tobago?
    Well, it went around the UK......
