Look up Brian Goodwin at the website for the Santa Fe Institute,
obtainable via Yahoo. His two best books, from what I have been
able to ascertain, are SIGNS OF LIFE : How Complexity Pervades
Biology and HOW THE LEOPARD CHANGED ITS SPOTS: The
Evolution of Complexity. If you wanna risk using Rupert Sheldrake
in a graded academic work, your best bets are probably A NEW
SCIENCE OF LIFE: The Hypothesis of Morphic Resonance and
THE PRESENCE OF THE PAST: Morphic Resonance and the
Habits of Nature. Just remember that some of his other titles
include THE PHYSICS OF ANGELS: Exploring the Realm Where
Science and Spirit Meet, THE REBIRTH OF NATURE: The
greening of God and Science, NATURAL GRACE: Dialogues on
Creation, Darkness and the Soul in Spirituality and Science (with
newage priest Matthew Fox), EVOLUTIONARY MIND: Trialogues
at the Edge of the Unthinkable (with chaos theoretician Ralph
Abraham and the late psychedelician Terence McKenna), and
CHAOS, CREATIVITY AND COSMIC CONSCIOUSNESS, and
hope your professors DON'T look them up.
