Hi Philip,
Welcome to the list.
I believe memetics hasn't quite reached the position of academic
appointments specifically in this field, as others may also indicate. There
are some that teach memetics in their courses, others who run or who have
just started running memetics units, but largely it seems to be an
extra-disciplinary field at the moment. By that I mean that many of the key
authors work, or have worked in other fields. Blackmore's a psychologist by
trade, for example. I'd bet money there aren't any post-docs on this in the
UK at least.
Have you read much other memetics work apart from Blackmore (and the
journal, presumably)? Quite a few of the key figures contribute, on and
off, to this list (and then there's people like me who are constantly
jabbering on without having done any substantive research_yet). Checking
the archives would give you a wealth of memetics, and related literature to
explore.
