    All those interested in the place of information in memetics, if
    they haven't already done so, should get hold of Robert Aunger's book
    Darwinizing Culture, and read the section of David Hull's chapter entitled
    Replication and its implementation, starting on page 58.

    (They should also probably read the rest of the book, but that's the
    bit that's most relevant to my main concerns.)

    I don't mean to start another discussion on this, because Hull cites
    a couple of references I wasn't aware of and will need to read, but I
    thought others here should get the same chance.

    Hull basically repeats the question he asked at the Kings College meeting,
    as described at http://www.ii01.org/motivate.html -- but he "motivates"
    the question much more explicitly. This is fascinating stuff.
