Of course, the Brits invented what you call baseball (we call it rounders),
but many people like it over here because, well it's like cricket lite.
Cricket can be an exciting game, but test matches can last for 5 days and
still end in a draw. Baseball is a kind of simpler version, although it
gets dressed up with lots of stats, but at least you guys hate draws, so
there always has to be a winner.
Actually, Angela, something Wade subtlely neglected to mention is that
whilst the Red Sox haven't won a world series since Babe Ruth left, the New
York Yankees have won double-figures worth of world series, including
several in the immediate years after Ruth's trade, and the last 3 titles.
They're a bit like the Man Utd of baseball, with the Rod Sox more like
Brighton & Hove Albion. I bet that doesn't help does it?
