A recent study in the UK connected a high incidence of miscarriages and
other child health problems in Britain's Asian community to the high
proportion of marriages between cousins. Some community leaders are
working to change this ("it will take 30 years or more," one said).
This, like your example from South Africa, is a very purposive activity.
Do you think taboos are a matter of logic?

why would subliminal advertising be so controversial? The ad-maker is
aware of the content, the perceiver isn't. (?)
Many people who are, or have been, in close relationships have stories
about the way they and their partner to communicate to challenge this.
Lovers/mother-child/twins.
Are you saying that all of the information others convey to us by in
the way they speak, move etc is communication only if we are
consciously aware of it?
